Patullo the Playmaker: New Eagles OC Strikes All the Right Chords
In Philadelphia, Kevin Patullo excelled during his initial press conference on Wednesday after being named the Eagles' newest offensive coordinator.

Currently, Patullo is at the helm of the "Eagles offense," which refers to the system used since the responsibility for play calling shifted sequentially from Sirianni to Shane Steichen, then to Brian Johnson, followed by Kellen Moore, and finally to Patullo. He assumes a prominent role by leading the offensive strategy sessions throughout the week before communicating the plays directly to Jalen Hurts come game day.
"The most significant aspect is that I am the primary voice in the offensive meeting room. Even though I had considerable influence beforehand, there isn’t much of a difference now," Patullo reflected ahead of Wednesday’s OTA practice.
Patullo has been associated with Sirianni for the last eight seasons, covering their time in both Indianapolis and Philadelphia. The enthusiasm each of them holds for offensive football begins with the talent available among the players.
My strategy revolves around placing the players in the optimal situation for success," Patullo stated. "Ultimately, this is what matters most. It's crucial to ensure they feel assured about all aspects of their abilities, and as a coach, I must also have confidence that I've positioned them correctly so they can perform at their peak when they step onto the field.
Patullo takes over what might be the most gifted offensive unit in football, as 10 out of the 11 starters are back. Among these 10 players, eight boast either All-Pro or Pro Bowl accolades on their records.
"I believe this is substantial," Patullo commented regarding the continuity.
The underlying concept of that viewpoint is Patullo’s fundamental conviction that effective offensive football revolves around solving problems as they occur in the moment.

Those individuals can confidently step into the field knowing exactly what they should be doing," Patullo stated. "But regardless of whatever occurs, they believe they can tackle problems collectively and perform at their peak, which ultimately defines it all." He added, "Many coaches have remained consistent over time as well as numerous players who continue to stick around.
That’s significant because it allows the guys to know our objectives and timing, and if anything changes, we can all adapt collectively—a crucial aspect for both the coaching staff and the players.
