Republican Danny Tarkanian Launches Bid for Nevada Attorney General

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS —Republican Danny Tarkanian launched his campaign for Nevada Attorney General on Wednesday, entering the race alongside Democrat Zach Conine to succeed Aaron Ford.

Tarkanian, whose father was the renowned UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian and civic leader Lois Tarkanian , pledged "to protect Nevada families and instill genuine accountability within the Attorney General’s office," campaign website said.

A potential third contender for the position, Democratic State Senator Nicole Cannizarro, hasn't declared her intentions yet.

Tarkanian has campaigned for various offices almost ten times. As of now, he serves as a commissioner in Douglas County after winning the election in 2020. In 2016, he barely missed securing a U.S. House seat, falling short to Democrat Jacky Rosen by 3,943 votes.
